List Status Boards
A list status board contains a unique set of items, which are pre-identified and their potential values are well known—the items whose status is to be tracked. All of the pertinent information in a list status board can be displayed on a single window and is set up using the Designer. Each item has four parts: title, value, revised date (updated automatically every time the item is revised), and comment field.
List status boards are used to give decision makers a single location to collect and post disparate information about a issue or area of focus (e.g., schools open and closed). List status boards provide context for collecting and displaying information from many different sources. This status board is a summary of information gathered from many different people and locations. Displaying this status board at an emergency operations center and in the field 1) increases situation awareness, 2) provides a single point of access for top level information, and 3) provides a single, well defined place to post various types of information.
The list status board below provides a mechanism for sharing information about a potential chemical accident. Values for list status boards are updated directly on the status board itself. As new information is provided, other users viewing the status board will receive the updated information in real time.
The date/time, type of munition, and agent information is likely to be collected from one source. The wind speed and direction are gathered from the weather station. The event classification is determined after the hazard analyst has run the dispersion model and decides who will be impacted (e.g., the community). The emergency operations center director decides how serious the situation is—from a small spill in a building onsite to declaring an event is in progress that affects the entire community.

Other examples of list status boards used in the field include Event Summary, Emergency Operations Center Activation, and the School Open/Closed example below.
